About 'christian university online degrees'|Online University Degree a Decision One Must Make

High               school               is               such               an               exciting               time.

There               are               so               many               choices               and               activities.

Life               is               abundant               to               you,               and               you               are               youthful               and               full               of               energy.

As               you               look               unto               the               future,               you               may               have               an               idea               of               what               you               want               to               do               with               your               life               or               you               may               have               no               idea               at               all.

For               now,               your               choices               may               be...

Do               I               study               or               go               out               with               my               friends?

Should               I               date               this               person               or               that               person?

Should               I               buy               those               jeans               with               that               shirt?

But               ahead,               you               will               face               much               bigger               options.

Now               is               the               time               that               you               start               finding               yourself               and               what               you               want               to               be.

As               a               junior,               you               are               entering               the               big               leagues               of               high               school.

It               is               time               you               start               looking               ahead.

As               a               senior,               you               are               at               the               top.

When               you               graduate,               you               will               enter               a               big               world,               which               will               be               bigger               than               yourself.

If               you               have               no               direction               at               all,               you               might               lose               your               way.

I               lost               my               way               for               a               little               while.

I               had               a               3.7               GPA               in               high               school,               but               I               was               so               focused               on               boys               and               my               social               life               that               I               did               not               see               a               path               through               all               the               chaos.

I               had               no               idea               what               I               wanted               to               do               with               my               life               as               I               walked               across               the               stage               to               get               my               high               school               diploma.

I               went               to               the               University               of               North               Alabama               simply               because               it               was               the               first               school               that               accepted               me,               and               it               seemed               good               to               me.

Once               I               was               there,               I               bounced               around               from               major               to               major               having               no               idea               what               I               wanted               to               do               with               my               life.

I               switched               majors               at               least               three               to               four               times.

Most               of               the               majors               had               to               do               with               writing               or               teaching               in               some               way.
Eventually,               I               got               a               degree               in               communication               arts               specializing               in               print               journalism.

It's               a               mouthful               of,               but               it's               a               journalism               degree.

I               now               substitute               teach               and               freelance               write               on               the               side.

I               do               love               my               jobs.

I               am               a               born               writer.

I               also               love               being               in               the               classroom.

I               am               great               with               teenagers.

I               substitute               teach               for               middle               and               high               school               classes.

Yes.

I               am               great               with               young               ladies               and               gentlemen               your               age.

It's               what               I               do               for               a               living.

That               and               my               writing.

I               do               look               back               and               see               that               if               I               would               have               made               different               choices,               maybe               I               would               be               a               full-time               teacher               or               maybe               I               would               be               a               staff               writer               somewhere.

It's               all               about               what               you               do               and               don't               do.

You               can't               just               sit               there               and               wait               for               something               to               happen               to               you.

You               have               to               go               get               something               if               you               want               it.

Getting               the               right               job               for               you               starts               right               now.

You               don't               have               to               go               out               and               get               it               now.

This               is               the               time               for               you               to               start               thinking               and               preparing               for               it.

Only               you               can               do               it!
I               know               as               a               senior,               you               are               celebrating!

You               are               so               out               of               there!

But               where               will               you               go               next?

I               am               sure               I               am               not               the               only               person               who               graduated               high               school               and               went               to               college               just               to               be               going.

And               somewhere               in               my               mid-twenties,               I               started               to               realize               that               I               had               no               real               career               or               job.

All               that               money               I               had               spent               and               I               had               nothing               to               show               for               it.

All               the               money               I               suddenly               owed               on               student               loans               and               no               job,               no               career,               nothing               but               a               fancy               piece               of               paper               on               a               wall.

It               looks               pretty               on               my               wall.

I               am               proud               of               my               degree.

All               I               am               saying               is               that               you               need               to               choose               wisely.

Put               a               lot               of               thought               into               this.

Each               move               you               make               or               don't               make               over               the               next               five               to               ten               years               will               be               either               costly               or               beneficial               to               you               according               to               what               you               choose.

Take               time               to               think               about               it               and               researching               now.

Make               that               degree               more               than               a               paper               on               a               wall.

Make               that               job               more               than               a               job,               but               a               career               that               you               love               doing               every               day               of               your               life.

Here               are               some               of               my               tips               for               Career               and               job               searching:
Brainstorm               to               think               of               what               you               want               to               be               or               what               you               want               to               do.

Some               of               you               may               know               exactly               what               you               want               to               be.

Maybe               you               want               to               be               a               veterinarian               or               a               nurse.

However,               give               yourself               a               chance               to               brainstorm               on               a               career.

Maybe               you               should               jot               down               some               notes               in               a               journal.

Just               write               down               some               basic               reasons               why               you               want               to               do               that               for               a               living.

Feel               free               to               list               as               many               jobs               or               careers               that               come               to               mind.
When               choosing               a               career               or               job,               pick               something               practical               and               something               you               can               see               yourself               doing               20               years               down               the               road.

Practical               sounds               boring.

I               know...

But               honestly               if               any               of               your               parents               say               it,               there               is               a               reason               why.

You               do               need               to               pick               something               you               enjoy               doing.

But               also               pick               something               that               is               in               demand               in               the               job               market               today.

To               consider               what               is               in               demand,               consider               geographical               location               and               you               personal               preferences.

For               example,               if               you               want               to               be               a               famous               fashion               designer,               that's               great,               but               pretty               much               know               that               you               are               going               to               have               to               live               or               be               willing               to               live               in               a               big               city               to               make               it               in               that               career               field.

Go               for               your               dreams!

I               don't               want               to               discourage               you               at               all,               but               just               know               you               may               have               to               make               some               sacrifices               along               the               way.

You               need               to               think               long               and               hard               about               it.

Are               you               are               the               kind               of               person               who               is               willing               to               do               what               is               necessary               to               get               the               job?

Do               pick               a               job               or               career               you               will               enjoy.

The               rest               of               your               life               is               a               long               time               to               be               stuck               doing               something               you               don't               like               at               all!

Pick               something               you               can               honestly               see               yourself               doing               day               after               for               the               rest               of               your               life.

Everyone               has               to               work.

This               is               your               chance               to               find               work               that               you               will               enjoy               doing.
Research               or               look               up               jobs               and               careers.

You               may               do               this               at               home               using               a               home               computer               to               search               careers               and               jobs               over               the               Internet               or               you               may               also               do               so               at               school               in               the               computer               lab               or               at               your               local               library.

Also,               you               may               dare               to               open               a               book.

Yes!

Look               up               careers               in               books               that               you               find               in               your               local               library               or               book               store.

You               may               need               to               do               this               to               get               an               idea               of               some               careers               and               jobs               if               you               have               no               idea               what               you               want               to               do.
